2020/2021 Chinese Government Scholarship Now Opens for Application

With the continuous increase of exchanges and cooperation between China and Brunei Darussalam, and with a view to further promoting mutual understanding and friendship between the young people of the two countries, the Government of the People's Republic of China will provide 4 scholarships to Bruneian students for the 2020/2021 academic year. The Chinese Government Scholarship will cover the expenses of registration, accommodation, tuition, living allowance, outpatient medical service and insurance.

From today, eligible applicants could log on the official website of China Scholarship Council at http://www.campuschina.org or http://www.csc.edu.cn/studyinchina and click on "Application Online for International Students" to the registration page, then fill in forms and submit application online following the instructions (Attachment I Instructions for Chinese Government Scholarship Information System (CGSIS)). All documents required must be scanned clearly and submitted online before Sunday, 19 January 2020. Overdue application will not be accepted.

Please note that all applications must be completed online, the Embassy of China in Brunei will not accept any paper application this year. Please send the online application Serial Number to the Embassy by email chinaembassyedu@gmail.com, so that the Embassy could query and accept the application.

Applicants are strongly suggested to contact the interested universities by their own to get the Pre-Admission Letter before 19 January 2020. It will help the applicants to be accept by their target Universities.

Subsequent steps for admission are as follows:

1. In the end of January 2020: The Chinese Embassy in Brunei Darussalam will organize interview, screen and inform the eligible candidates for Chinese Government Scholarship by email. Applicants who are not on the list of candidates will not get noticed. Then the Chinese Embassy will send all documents of the candidates to China Scholarship Council for final review.

2. In March of 2020: China Scholarship Council will confirm the admittance and send Admission Letters to the Chinese Embassy. Scholarship winners will be noticed by email to collect the admission letters and the visa application forms (JW201) at the Embassy. School term in China starts around September 2020.
