In the face of the rapid spread of the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide, the Chinese government has temporarily suspended entry of foreigners with valid visas and residence permits into China from March 28. At the same time, China still strives to facilitate necessary economic, trade and technological exchanges as well as trips to China based on urgent humanitarian needs.
In the context of the normalization of the prevention and control of the COVID-19 pandemic, and in order to further facilitate people-to-people exchanges, China has decided that starting 0:00 on August 22, Bruneian nationals and permanent residents (holders of Bruneian Certificate of Identity) with valid Chinese residence permits (work, personal affairs, and family reunion) can apply for relevant visa at the Chinese Embassy in Brunei free of charge. Please send an email to consulate_brn@mfa.gov.cn in advance to make an appointment. "Visa Application Form" and "Health Declaration Form for Visa Application" must be completed together with the original and copies of passport, valid residence permits and other supporting documents. A statement of results for SARS-CoV-2 RT-PCR test with negative results issued 5 days prior to departure by one of the authorized PCR testing institutions is required for boarding the flight to China (the list of authorized institutions is attached below), and strict adherence to epidemic prevention and control measures once arrive in China is called for.
