2. UNN and Vobile Sign Data Centre Agreement

On September 3, Unified National Networks (UNN) signed a commercial agreement with Vobile Group Limited. The UNN data centre is scheduled to commence operations in 2028.

3. Brunei Continues to Suffer from Transboundary Haze

Recent widespread forest fires in Indonesia, particularly in the southern parts of Kalimantan Island, exacerbated by severe drought conditions driven by the El Niño phenomenon, and prevailing southwesterly winds, which made the fire even more difficult to be extinguished. Brunei continues to be impacted by transboundary haze, resulting in a marked deterioration of air quality across all four districts, with some areas reaching the "Very Unhealthy" level.

To mitigate health risks, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Religious Affairs issued an emergency announcement on September 2, suspending physical classes nationwide in favor of online teaching and halting all outdoor activities in the schools.
