On 2 July, Ambassador Xiao Jianguo was invited to attend the launching ceremony of BYD Shark 6 held by Maju Motors Sdn Bhd, the sole distributor of BYD models in Brunei.

Ambassador Xiao congratulated BYD on its achievements of its new energy vehicles in the Brunei market. He said that as a global leader in new energy vehicles, BYD's innovative breakthroughs in the fields of electrification and intelligence have provided Brunei customers with diversified needs for vehiclesand injected momentum into global green transportation and he looked forward to deepening new energy co-operation between Brunei and China, to jointly address the challenges of climate change, and to assist both countries in their green and low-carbon transformation to achieve sustainable development.

The Shark 6 was unveiled by Ambassador Xiao with Director of Maju Motors Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Yunus, Managing Director Chan Key Hong and Executive Director Stanley Lim.

Chan said the confirmed orders for the Shark 6 pickup on the launching day had reached more than 50.
