Recently, the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Brunei Darussalam, in collaboration with partners including the Ministry of Home Affairs of Brunei Darussalam, Imagine Sdn Bhd and Hengyi Industries, has launched a drone light show tour in Belait, Temburong, Brunei-Muara, and Tutong Districts to celebrate the 35th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Brunei and the 80th birthday of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.

This marks the first nationwide drone light show tour across four districts in Brunei. The four shows were held back-to-back with local night markets, cultural events etc., drawing widespread attention and attracting tens of thousands of Brunei people from all walks of life to watch the performances. The drones from China illuminated the night skies of Brunei with images featuring messages such as “Celebrating the 35th Anniversary of China-Brunei Diplomatic Relations,” “China-Brunei Community with a Shared Future,” and “Happy 80th Birthday to His Majesty”. Cheers and applause erupted from the crowds, with many people taking photos and videos to capture the moments, speaking highly of the enduring friendship between China and Brunei Darussalam, as well as expressing their hopes for better development of China-Brunei relations in the future.
