On the occasion of Hari Raya Aidilfitri, on behalf of H.E. Yu Hong, Ambassador of the People’s Repulic of China to Brunei Darussalam and the Chinese Embassy in Brunei, I wish to extend the warmest congratulations and best wishes to His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, as well as the people of Brunei Darussalam.     Eid al-Fitr is an important celebration for the muslims around the world. Chinese Muslims are also celebrating this joyous and auspicious holiday. China and Brunei are good neighbors, good friends and good partners across the sea. Our two countries enjoy a long history of exchanges and our two peoples long-stand friendship. Last year marked the 30th anniversaries of diplomatic ties between China and Brunei, as well as the dialogue relations between China and ASEAN, while Brunei assumed the rotating chair of ASEAN. Thanks to the joint efforts, China-Brunei relations as well as China-ASEAN relations achieved milestone development. Political mutual trust has been constantly consolidated, friendly exchanges and pragmatic cooperation have been expanded. Both sides have extended invaluable support during the fight against the pandemic. Bilateral trade volume reached a historic high of USD$2.85 billion despite the impact of the pandemic. China-ASEAN relations ushered in a new era of Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. This year, China-Brunei relations are standing at a new historic point. We firmly believe that bilateral relations will continue to make important progress, to the benefits of our countries and peoples.
