On the auspicious occasion of Hari Raya 2024, on behalf of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Brunei Darussalam, I extend my sincerest and best festive greetings to His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam as well as the Bruneian people.
During the holy month of Ramadhan, our Embassy made donations to the Pusat Ehsan Foundation and DANA Foundation as well as to some local Malay families, showing the Chinese traditional virtues of being philanthropic and caring for the needy and the underprivileged, which is in line with the Islamic traditions. My colleague and I also paid a visit to Balai Khazanah Islam Sultan Haj Hassanal Bolkiah where the historic Islamic treasures impressed us and taught us that the civilizations will be more beautiful with exchanges and more colorful with mutual learning.
Hari Raya is a happy and grand holiday for Muslims,serving as a time of peace and joy. Bruneian Muslims and their families will gather to celebrate and host open houses to share the happiness and auspiciousness with the others. The Chinese Embassy appreciates the kind invitations to their open houses from local Muslim friends which offer us the opportunity to experience the great hospitality and traditional customs of Bruneian people.
This year marks the 40th anniversary of the independence of Brunei Darussalam and the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. I take strong belief that with the strategic guidance of the two heads of state and joint efforts from the two sides, China-Brunei relations will witness more fruitful exchanges and cooperation in all areas. Especially this year is the ASEAN-China Year of People-to-People Exchanges,we are willing to take this advantage to join hands with the Bruneian side to conduct more people-to-people activities and enhance the people-to-people inter-connectivity between our two countries as well as China and ASEAN, thus to promote China-Brunei strategic cooperative partnership to a new high and build a closer China-ASEAN community with shared future.
