To further facilitate visa applications, fingerprint collection is now exempted for all short-term visa applicants (staying no more than 180 days in China) from the day of this notice until 31^st December, 2026.

According to relevant regulations, fingerprint collection is still required for applicants of D, J1, Q1, S1, X1 and Z visas, who should apply for residence permits after entry into China.
